News — Building Women’s Careers Program

The Australian Government is investing $60.6 million in the Building Women’s Careers (BWC) Program to drive systemic structural and cultural change in training and work environments critical to the Future Made in Australia initiative.

Applications for Grant Opportunity are now open

The BWC program provides $54.5 million in grant funding for both large-scale projects and smaller, place-based partnerships. Projects will be delivered through 2 streams:

  1. Industry/Sector-led partnership projects
  2. Community-led partnership projects

As part of the grant opportunity, selected organisations will form partnerships to:

  • drive systemic structural and cultural change in the key male-dominated industries and sectors of construction, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital and technology
  • provide women with flexible, safe and inclusive work and training opportunities and increase women’s access to skilled and well-paid careers, helping to address critical skills shortages in key male-dominated industries
  • improve flexibility, culture and inclusive practices in key areas of the economy.

Applications are welcomed from a broad range of organisations such as industry leaders, employers, registered unions, training organisations and community organisations, within the construction, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and digital and technology industries.

Visit business.gov.au to submit your application before 5 pm (AEDT) on 2 December 2024. Grant Opportunity Guidelines are also available and include information on eligibility, partnership and application requirements, selection criteria and required attachments. Frequently Asked Questions on the grant opportunity are available on the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations website.
